On November 14-16, PBA attended the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice Conference in Jersey City. The conference focused on mental health within criminal justice systems and the important shift toward restorative and sustainable justice.
PBA's Dan Bailey and Laurie Dickeson also took part in an architecture tour group with Administrative Judge, Judge D’Emic, in an engaging discussion about Brooklyn’s Mental Health Court processes, procedures and best practices.
Architects must play a role in creating facilities that provide dignity and equity to those served by or to those who serve within justice facilities. PBA's involvement with justice facility programming, planning, and design continues to grow. See our Justice projects.
