Located in Jessup, Maryland, the purpose of the project was to double the Brockbridge Correctional Facility’s food preparation, distribution and storage capabilities. This was achieved with complete renovations of the kitchen and the warehouse.  In order to meet the retherm and food bank requirements, and increased population demand, an increase in both the storage and kitchen capacities were met with the construction of new additions.  Also, a small addition was provided for the provision of a separate dining area for staff.

The program also included site improvements to the main sally port and service yard. A major component of this program was to keep both functions in operation during construction. PBA’s Project Manager developed the project’s multi-phased construction schedule. Phasing and cost studies were provided to determine the efficiency and economy in providing temporary kitchen trailers while the existing facility was renovated and the additions substantially completed.
