EC LIGHTHOUSE SENIOR LIVING

Penza Bailey Architects provided architectural design services for the $2.4 M renovation of the senior living facility in Ellicott City, Maryland. Work included four new additions totaling 11,000 SF of additional space to an existing 30,000 SF facility.

Extensive interior renovations of the existing public spaces were undertaken as well, including new flooring, paint, and lighting in all the corridors, restrooms, physical therapy rooms, sitting rooms, and the addition of 18 new apartments. Efforts were also taken to correct code and construction issues with the existing buildings.

The existing entrance provided neither a level, nor covered car drop-off area. The entrance was demolished and replaced by a new portico. The lobby vestibule was enlarged and the administrative area expanded. On the backside of the property, PBA designed a new private courtyard area for the residents to enjoy the outdoors. Civil design services were also provided.
