DCMA BLDG. 1150 LUKE AIR FORCE BASE

The Building 1150 Renovations project includes the relocation of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) from its current downtown Phoenix, Arizona location into B1150 at Luke Air Force Base (AFB). Approximately 160 personnel will relocate into 24,000 SF of the 2-nd floor of the 3-level building. To accommodate this relocation, various departments and 50 current personnel will be relocated into 12,000 SF on either the 1st and 3rd floor. The renovations are phased to allow for effective construction processes, unencumbered and efficient relocations, and protection of the existing facility and occupants. New mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, fire alarm/detection, communications, security, IT, and AV systems will be provided throughout renovated areas. PBA's design approach included multi-department and facility charrettes to ascertain all program requirements. The challenges of this project entailed working within an inflexible concrete framed building with no windows, and a 50-year old infrastructure.
