FBOP ADMINISTRATION BUILDING

Penza Bailey Architects’ task order was to design and construct new administration offices for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) on the 6th Floor of 400 First Street NW, Washington, DC. The offices will accommodate five work groups, approximately 46 staff. PBA will provide space planning, a complete set of construction documents, coordination with required engineers, and cost estimate for a new office build-out. FBOP is utilizing the entire 12,000 sf 6th Floor.

Project details include: whole floor renovation; multiple user groups within department; secure perimeter access control systems; employed use of PBA developed matrix to define space requirements in conjunction with space planning concepts; and carefully coordinated CID and SID packages. The program spaces include private offices, open workstations, kitchen/break room, conference room, file rooms, secure storage, and copy/shred room.
