A founding Principal since 1989, Jeffrey Penza's commercial and institutional project experience encompasses corporate, retail and restaurants, healthcare, academic, educational and religious facilities, and certified historic rehabilitation work. Private and public residential design experience focuses on additions and renovations, custom homes, townhouse and apartment complex design, and retirement communities. As a past president and active Board member of Preservation Maryland, Jeff is actively involved in historic work. Jeff is passionate about The Americans with Disability Act and is sought out to be an expert witness throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Jeff is a board member of The Lyric, and is active member of the Rotary Club of Baltimore City.

DANIEL L. BAILEY, AIA

PRINCIPAL

A founding Principal since 1981, Daniel Bailey has played a key role in the successful administration of new construction and renovation projects for both private and governmental clients. His experience on city, state, and federal projects of all types and sizes contribute significantly to his excellence in project management. Dan is an expert in contracts management and has helped facilitate many successful projects for non-profits, religious, justice, federal and healthcare clients. As Past-President of AIA Maryland chapter, Dan is active with AIA, and is passionate about architecture legislation. Dan received the AIABaltimore 2011 President's Award - Community Architect of the Year, in recognition of his commitment to mentoring architecture students at Morgan State University.

Dan is a member of the American Correctional Association where he speaks at their national conferences and seminars and serves on the Facility Committee. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architect's Academy of Architecture for Justice which supports best practices in corrections design. He spoke at AAJ's 2015 conference in Miami and 2017 conference in Cincinnati.

Laura Thul Penza is a founding Partner in the award-winning firm of Penza Bailey Architects. Her commercial experience includes school additions and renovations, office building design, and interior space planning and design. Laura's private residential design experience includes custom homes, and additions and renovations of existing homes. Laura takes an active role in the community. She previously served as board member of Metropolitan Baltimore's Building Congress & Exchange (BC&E) and Baltimore Clayworks, and currently serves as President of the Govanstowne Business Association. She also serves as a Baltimore City Commissioner for the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation (CHAP). Laura was honored with the 2014 Circle of Excellence Beacon Award, the top honor of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) which recognizes those individuals who consistently deliver excellence.

LAURIE DICKESON, AIA, LEED AP, CSI CCS

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Laurie has been with PBA since 2000. Her extensive experience in the design of many types of public facilities includes new construction, additions, renovations, and systemic upgrades. Laurie is particularly skillful at initial planning and feasibility studies, existing facility evaluations, and code analysis as well as complex phasing, especially involving occupied buildings. She has had great success in design, translating complex program requirements into innovative projects, often with limited budgets, and applies a conscientious environmental design approach to all projects. Laurie has achieved the Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certification from Construction Specification Institute (CSI), becoming a skilled product researcher who knows how to investigate and identify cost-effective, efficient solutions, and then communicate those solutions through the specifications.

PAULINA BEECHE, AIA, LEED AP, CSI CDT

Paulina Beeche started with PBA in 2008. She is especially capable in organizing multi-faceted commercial and institutional renovation and modernization projects, and her experience also extends to industrial and public facilities. She is particularly proficient at understanding the technical restrictions and existing conditions constraints that affect a building. This enables an organized approach and sensible cost effective solutions. With every client, Paulina attempts to achieve a functional project that not only meets the programmatic needs, but also stays within the specified budget and time schedule. She is a Certified Documentation Technologist (CDT) with Construction Specification Institute (CSI), which trained her further in the development, administration and enforcement of construction documentation, and therefore she is sought after for her project management skills. Paulina is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

DAVID MORIN, AIA, CDT

David has been with PBA since 1997. He has designed and managed a variety of complex project types, including educational facilities, office buildings, multi-purpose facilities, daycare centers, senior centers, medical facilities, hospitals, public and private housing, museums, and commercial and retail complexes with scopes of work ranging from new construction to renovation to interior design. He particularly enjoys the challenge of complex technical projects and healthcare facilities. KELSEY KRUSE, AIA

PROJECT MANAGER

Kelsey Kruse has been working in the industry for over 35 years and joined PBA in 2018. Kelsey's work has spanned from residential work in the community of The Sea Ranch in California, to commercial and office work in the Baltimore region. Her specialization includes work for financial institutions including Bank of America and Rosedale Federal Savings & Loan Association. For the past 10 years, she has project managed the architectural services for numerous Fairfield Inns for Marriott International. In 2000, she performed the duties of Graphics Editor for the first edition publication of Interior Graphic Standards for The American Institute of Architects and John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

ADAM READ, AIA

PROJECT ARCHITECT

Adam Read holds a BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, Canada as well as a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and M.Arch. Degrees from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. He has been working in the industry since 2008 with an interdisciplinary portfolio including Residential, Retail, Commercial, and Institutional work. Adam aims to understand a client's objectives from the onset of a project to develop a methodology to meet and exceed these goals. He believes that true sustainability is rooted in thoughtful design, where context and function are integral to the vision.

RYAN BEHNEMAN

PROJECT DESIGNER

Ryan Behneman joined PBA in 2013, and uses his talents to support educational, religious and custom residential projects. He brings a strong experience of Building Information Modeling (BIM), utilizing multiple software programs and platforms, and a high level of attention to sustainability and design details. Having completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and Masters of Architecture at Savannah College of Art and Design, Ryan is currently finishing up his Intern Development Program (IDP), and expects to begin his Architectural Registration Examinations. He believes sustainability is imperative, and is interested in how art and the design process can inform meaningful architecture.

REANNA M. ROGERS

INTERN ARCHITECT

Reanna Rogers graduated from Morgan State University with a Master of City and Regional Planning, and a BS in Architecture and Environmental Design. Since 2012, she has been practicing architecture with a concentration in residential, including affordable and market rate multi family residential buildings, senior housing and private residences, as well as commercial and institutional architecture. Reanna strives to provide quality design across private and publicly funded projects. She is an associate member of AIA, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity Chesapeake, and Baltimore's Neighborhood Design Center. Reanna loves to travel and has a strong interest in real estate and public policy.

Vincent Serritella started with PBA in 2015. He holds a BS-Arch. degree from the Catholic University of America, Washington, DC. Vince has been practicing Architecture since his graduation in 2003. He has strong experience with residential and commercial architecture, and has worked on projects for many different client types. Vince would like to be the best, by having a strong reputation of giving clients good service and a good product design.

Leah Penza received her BA-Arch and MA degrees from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. Leah has been practicing Architecture through summer internship opportunities since 2011, and full time since her graduation in May of 2016. She is experienced in residential and commercial architecture, and is eager to grow and learn in this field. Leah greatly enjoys meeting with clients to realize their goals and ideas, in order to produce a beautiful and well-executed project. When she is not in the office, you can find her snowboarding in the winter, or hiking and camping in the warmer months.

Kimberly Bradbury joined PBA in 2017 to administratively assist the firm's growing office. Kimberly is a licensed real estate agent in Maryland with Conway Real Estate, and brings with her an extensive and impressive sales background. She is a housing enthusiast. PBA, as well as Kimberly's clients, benefit from her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Baltimore market and her knowledge of architecture. A transplant from California and Connecticut, Kimberly was a high-level sales executive for the wine industry for over 12 years.

CYNTHIA STUBER

MARKETING DIRECTOR

Cynthia Stuber has spent the last 20 years in the marketing industry promoting professional services, with the past five years specialization in the A/E/C industry. With a background in design, she brings to PBA extensive knowledge in brand development and marketing strategy and will serve as the primary marketing expert to the firm's three principals. She is a graduate of Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, and enjoys painting in her spare time and serving at her local church. Cynthia is an active member of SMPS Maryland, where she serves on the Communications Committee.

Kya Kennett comes to PBA from Seattle, Washington where she obtained a B.A. in Architectural Design at the University of Washington. She worked as an Intern Architect in Seattle for a year before moving to Baltimore. Her previous work experience includes residential and educational architecture. She is interested in designing spaces for communities, especially schools and public spaces.

Penza Bailey Architects' culture is one of working hard, but also allowing time to get to know each other. Recently, staff and family members included, took a trip to Chicago to celebrate the firm's 10th Anniversary of its merger (Penza Associates Architects and Amos, Bailey, Arnold & Associates). The adventure included Doors Open Chicago, sightseeing, and a dinner cruise with panoramic skyline views of Chicago.
