McDonald’s @ Port Discovery

Developed in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineers, the design of the Port Discovery Children's Museum required the complete rehabilitation and adaptive redevelopment of an existing historic "Fish Market" to incorporate all public functions. The original Baltimore Fish Market Building was completed in 1898, and all new or renovation work had to comply with the Maryland Historic Trust.

Functions include interactive educational exhibits, educational workshops and classrooms, tot play and education areas, theme theaters, children's theater, meeting rooms, family-oriented retail facilities, administrative support areas and television studios for Maryland Public Television. Designed to be an extension of the classroom, the library was programmed in coordination with the Enoch Pratt LIbrary System. The facility was designed in partnership with an Accessibility Task Force to meet and exceed the requirements of the ADA and the new Children's Accessibility Standards.
