Within guidelines established by local preservation groups, an addition brought this 150 year-old Victorian farmhouse into a condition that would support the contemporary lifestyle of its owners. First floor circulation improved dramatically with the addition of mudroom, breakfast room and sitting room. A laundry room and guest room were located on the upper floors. Authentic materials and detailing were crafted to evoke the character of the original structure. This project was an award winner in the Baltimore Magazine/AIA Awards program. Currently a second, equally sympathetic addition is planned for the new owner’s growing family.
