EKLOF BUILDING

A vintage warehouse building last used by the Eklof Company is in feasibility studies for conversion to retail and residential apartments. In developing the building program, the firm worked closely with the community, with CHAP and with the Planning Department to reach consensus on the best uses for the property and to meet the design criteria established for the Ridgely’s Delight Historic District. The existing three-story building is a structure cobbled together from as many as six original buildings, including basements. Fifteen apartments, ranging from approximately 800 sf to 1,200 sf each, and 3,000 sf of retail space are proposed, along with on-site parking for the residents. The design restores facades, adds a new fourth floor, community space and shared terraces with great north and south views of Baltimore City.
