JESSUP REGIONAL INFIRMARY FACILITY PROGRAM

Penza Bailey Architects provided Programming and Planning for the new 67,000 SF Jessup Regional Infirmary building. The new infirmary building will serve the multi-institutional Jessup Correctional Complex in Maryland. The document was prepared in close collaboration with the State of Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the Department of General Services for submission to the Department of Budget and Management.

The project will construct a new Infirmary on part of the vacant site previously containing the Maryland House of Corrections to provide health and medical services to sentenced offenders from facilities throughout the State. This new 160-bed infirmary will replace the hospital, and will provide mental health care, dialysis, dental care, minor medical procedures, rehabilitative and skilled nursing services for patients released from community hospitals, and care for elderly inmates and those with degenerative conditions.
