CCBC BUILDINGS DEMOLITION FACILITY PROGRAM

Penza Bailey Architects was tasked with Facility Programing for the demolition of multiple buildings within the Corrections Complex in Baltimore City. PBA provided a Draft Program for Budget and Management approval for the proposed demolition of roughly 7,800,000 cubic feet of volume in 15 buildings plus multiple site appurtenances, minor structures, and utility infrastructure, such as, but not limited to: the north-south running old penitentiary stone site demising wall; gate houses; security fencing; recreation shelters; above ground primary steam line; on-grade HVAC units and generators; below grade utilities; enclosed walkway bridges and tunnels; greenhouses; outdoor paved recreation areas. Careful planning was provided for demolition sequencing, to ensure a secure corrections facility is maintained during
demolition.

The project will make way for the design and construction of a new integrated Baltimore Justice Center and a new Central Plant facility.
